An Interdepartmental Graduate Program
The Graduate Program in Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology (CMDB) includes more than 60 faculty members, spanning 11 departments.
As a CMDB student, you will have opportunities to do research in the following areas of basic, applied, medical and agriculture sciences:

Degrees Offered
The interdepartmental CMDB program offers paths of study toward both a Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. The great majority of students enroll in the Ph.D. program. The average time it takes to earn a degree is 5.5 years.
We also admit a limited number of master's degree students. The average time to degree is two years. On occasion master's degree students continue on to complete a Ph.D. at UCR.
