Fellowships and Financial Support
CMDB Students admitted to the Ph.D. program are normally awarded financial support for 5 years (enough time to finish their degree).
The main source of support during the first year comes from fellowships awarded by:
- The Graduate Dean
- Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) salaries from the CMDB program.
After the first year, the majority of students are supported by Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) salaries from faculty (Major Professor), Extramural Grants and Teaching Assistantships (TA's).
Students in the CMDB program do not spend a lot of their time as TA's, however, service for two quarters is required to earn the Ph.D. degree.
